Making a Paper Cone

This is the easiest way to make a paper cone. Paper cones are great for putting in treats like Jordon almonds for favors and for serving Popcorns! You can use recycled, origami, scrapbook, newspaper, kraft, cardstock papers, pretty much anything you can think of, just as long as they are clean as you’ll be putting edible contents in there. You can embellish them and turn them into beautiful favors, perfect for budget baby shower!

What you need:

1) Paper (eg. kraft paper, scrapbook paper, card stock)

2) Glue or tape

3) cone template or a square paper ( I used square origami paper )

You could use any sort of paper but if you need a fairly sturdy treat cones, you may want to use scrapbook paper or card stock. . You can decorate the cone using laces, ribbons and stickers. You can also dress up the cone to your baby shower theme. Add a bit of tulle for tutu dress, a little mustache for a little man theme, a bow or a tie for gender reveal and so on.

DIY How to Make a Simple Paper Chain Decoration

Making Paper Chain

Paper chain is one of the easiest and perhaps the most affordable or even cheapest baby shower decoration you could have for any type of parties. You can use pretty patterned origami papers, solid color cardstock papers, newspapers or any unused magazine pages.

With the papers you’ve found, cut them down as evenly as possible so the chain will look even once assembled together. You don’t want the paper chain to look too droopy so I usually like to start off with minimum 1″ width and 8″ length.

The best part is, you only need two things! Plenty of paper strips that you’ve cut down, and a gluestick (or a stapler or sticky tape, your choice). You can play around with the paper size to achieve your desired look. If the width is too thick, you may struggle to wrap the chain around so please keep this in mind.

Grab a paper strip, make your first circle by sticking the both end using the staplers or glue. Wrap the second piece around the previously made circle and glue the end of the second piece together so they are chained. Continue on until you are happy with the length of the chain.

Paper chains are great for any parties, baby showers, birthday parties, even for Christmas! You can hang them across the ceiling of the room, one corner to the other. As they are quite light, you’d only really be needing blu tack to keep them in place. Don’t forget that you can also use these paper chains to decorate your Christmas Tree!
