Nikki from Tikkido found a hit when she created this Secret Garden Baby Shower event. When she was asked to design the party around “The Secret Garden” it immediately drew her back to her childhood favorite by Frances Hodgson Burnett and she decided to evoke a misty, monochromatic, mysterious mood in lue of the vibrancy associated with gardens.
She started the dessert table off in a memorable fashion with a backdrop based on the Chanel 2009 runway show, a garden wall of paper flowers that literally wrapped the room in a soft elegance that continued on throughout the event. There was a fantastic twig/tree set at the back of the table that showcased a cupcake on a swing that enhanced the magic feel to this party.
The desserts were all very lovely and because the shower was to celebrate the coming of a little girl, Nikki went with as much pink as she could with each treat. There was raspberry mousse that shone vividly each topped with a fresh raspberry, all in adorable, clear trifle dishes.
Light, pink frosted cookies filled a tiered, mirrored, tray giving out a full and soft look. The cupcakes were perfection with fantastic flowers and pink mushrooms and butterflies, each one was its very own little secret garden. Those cupcakes were inspired by Zalita of Cupcake D’Lights.
One of the fantastic activities that Nikki came up with was making a custom, paint-by-number canvas art project. Each guest at the party got to paint a piece of the picture, with paints and brushes that were provided, giving a group gift that would never be forgotten.
The guest gifts were visions of beauty and deliciousness, white frosted cookies that had a little flower all individually wrapped and tagged with personal thank-you’s that would make anyone feel special!
