Sarah of Sugar Coated Mama has created a wonderful Up Up & Away baby shower themed party. The colors presented in the photos stand out the most. The colors are very light and airy, showing shades of yellow, white, and blue. There are three hot air balloon silhouettes made from scalloped paper lanterns. They stand out so much and looks absolutely amazing.
The yellow at the top of the lantern is reminiscent of the sun on a slightly sunny day, and the white scallops are reminiscent of the clouds. The feathered backdrop behind the tables further add to the elegance and simplicity of the design. While it is a subtle part of the decor it stands out beautifully. It represents the fluffy, and airy aspects of the clouds above our head.
Another standout element of this party are the festive cupcake toppers. They are pasty white and blue, miniature hot air balloons. They are centered on the cupcakes and tied with a miniature yellow piece of ribbon. The lines of the cupcake are pinstriped in the same color and play up the theme of the party. The cloud-shaped meringues are just darling as well. Sprinkled with some sprinkles reminiscent of the rainbow, they add a little pop color to the mono themed party. The cake is reminiscent of clouds and air. I love the mini tulle pom pom garlands used on the cake. It meshes well with the entire atmosphere of the party. The blue fairy floss cupcakes fit in so well with the rest of the desserts and the theme.
The colors blend well into each other, they also give off a feel of the reflective quality of the sea up against the fluffiness of the clouds. The use of color throughout the party is absolutely genius. Nothing strays away from the elegance, or allure of the party. It is a fun theme to use for any occasion. There is no limit to the design elements one can incorporate into this theme!
