Teddy Bears Picnic Party by Clair of Calamity Cakes
This teddy bear picnic can only be described as adorable. The white and gingham color palette looks charming and crisp against the dark green outdoors background. I love the sweets table with different shapes of glass candy jars filled with red, yellow, and white candies and the filled jars that mimic jams and honey. The green and white polka dots mixed with the rose gingham pattern create a beautiful backdrop for the table. The floral and gingham pattern is carried into the paper flowers hanging above the teddy bear cake and they are repeated on the charming signs and additional gingham ribbons give the white gift boxes a special touch. The floral pattern is even carried onto the cupcakes and heart-shaped cookies which look whimsical and tasty.
A really fun element of this party is how many activities there are for the children. The guests all have teddy bears to share the magical day with. They can have their faces painted to look like cute teddy bears and there are fun headbands with teddy bear ears to complete the look.
The most charming thing about this party is the cake. Or rather the cake scene. It is an adorable scene of a teddy bear having a picnic. The cake stand for the picnic scene looks like a little blanket spread across grass! The teddy bear is dressed up for the special day with a pink ribbon and a little butterfly and it is sitting next to a fondant picnic basket with a three tier cake perched on top. The bottom of the three tier cake is round and decorated in white and pink with a couple of fun splotches meant to look like drops of honey. The second tier looks like a delicious cut watermelon and the top tier is shaped like a pot of honey. It is just the sort of whimsical and fun cake you would expect to find at a teddy bear picnic.
