What is red, white and blue? It is a captivating carnival theme with a nacho bar that has been crafted by a wonderfully imaginative mom named Melissa of Buckets of Grace. This talented lady wanted something that stood out and wowed her child, Ethan, and she did just that with incorporating dazzling decorations and flavoursome food.
Everyone loves attending a good carnival but what about having a carnival at your very own party? Ethan had this outstanding privilege for his birthday so that he, and his guests, could enjoy his special day in style.
Peanuts and popcorn is always a great choice of snacks. Melissa organized these tasty treats into red and white striped bags with the food’s name printed onto it with cartoon pictures. The bags sat neatly in a wooden stand with ‘popcorn’ and ‘peanuts’ pinned to either side to give it that authentic and traditional carnival look.
Obviously the popcorn must come from somewhere and that was from an actual popcorn maker! The prolific parent of little Ethan managed to acquire a beautifully old-fashioned red machine which matched the surrounding décor.
Once the children have demolished the food they can enjoy a refreshing snow cone. Just like the famous lemonade stands with the deliberate backwards E to make it look adorable, Melissa has done her own kooky slant on the name to ‘Sno Cones’ to gain the guests’ interest. Also they come with a great beaker with an extended straw at the top.
Red and white polka-dot and stripy pleated rosettes of various sizes accompany the huge blue balloons on the stalls which immediately stand out. The striped paper plates, themed photo frames and nacho stand with carnival tickets wrapped around the tiers even reflect what a thoughtful and inventive process which took a lot of time. A true birthday extravaganza!
