Vintage Travel Themed Baby Shower by Holly of How Sweet.
Complete with little showcase suitcases in retro throw-back colors, the decor induces nostalgia for easy travels. Cuteness overtakes you when you see that the “Inflight Snacks” are rows of mini cupcakes and cake pops each adorned with its own image or the arrival date of the baby. A hot air balloon mobile is hanging above the table. A few puffy clouds and four hot air balloons each with their own unique designs remind us of long hot summer days in childhood that seem to last forever – beckoning us back to a time when spending hours – no, probably minutes that felt like hours – gazing at the sky.
The decorations are flawlessly incorporated with the food. Starting at the right hand side of the table there are non alcoholic drinks – water bottles with cute airplane labels, san pellegrino or punch. The cups are in the shape of old-school milk jugs, each with its pink ribbon and label of course! Grab your cup and your drink and you may have been thinking you’re good to go, but a selection of straws now awaits you – would you like yours in turquoise zig zag or pink polka-dot?
Over on the left hand side of the table there are “Complimentary Refreshments,” courtesy of “MKB Airlines”. The selection for today is white or red wine already poured and waiting for the guests. The hors d’oeuvres are mini crab cakes, frites with fritessous and ravioli on a stick are all inspired by the couple’s travels together.
It’s obvious that a lot of creative inspiration has gone into this baby shower, but it is also highly personalized to a couple that loves to travel together and who has a little one “in flight” whose arrival is getting closer day by day.
