Vintage pictures frames and windows set the tone for a return to a bygone era, in order to celebrate the beginning of a new era. Lovely mint yellow, gray and green colors give the tassel garland a poetic feel, so does the multi-colored ‘ric-rac’ and pom ribbon banner.
The almost unnoticed incorporation of painted vases from years gone by, chalkboards of old that proudly announce “she said yes”, and the lace doilies further bring together a party that plays on the soft beauty of colorful pastels andv grace. The pastel mint old wooden crates with the burlap and daisies add a dash of color, while still allowing the bright yellow lemons to shine!
Banana cream pies, lemon bars, and the multi-colored chocolate covered pretzels are simply dazzling! The greens, yellows and grays of the paper straws perfectly compliment the turquoise lemonade, and the yellow cake pops – what a unique way to add food to the display! The colorfully encased cupcakes with butter-cream frosting, pastel straws and yellow and green mint covered cookies is an enticing addition and a perfect balance to the banana cream pies and lemonade.
The addition of cut pieces of wood in rounds, daisies, and burlap give the vintage look a sturdiness, while the lace covers and wrap-around lace on the vases adds just the right feminine appeal! What a beautiful “picture” indeed.
Instead of the usual cookie cutter feel of a bridal shower, this beautiful showcase of old and new, soft yet bold, is sure to catch the eye of the old-fashioned bride-to-be, as well as the modern bride!
